ART@EYPE

Mid-July at Eype Centre for the Arts sees the return of a regular group of exhibitors, known collectively as ‘Art@Eype’.

The group is led by a core trio – imaginative artist David Brooke, portrait painter Elizabeth Sporne, and founder member, mixed-media artist Sally Davies, all Bridport-based. They are joined, each year, by different artists and makers invited from around the county (or sometimes a little beyond); this year their guests are pioneering copper painter Julie Oldfield, stone sculptor Ben Russell, landscape painter Caroline Tucker, wool sculptor Michelle Hickman, potter David Emery, and prizewinning photographer (and recently-elected Bridport town councillor) Neil Barnes.

In addition, the group runs their popular ‘Art@Eype café’ alongside the art, with teas, coffees and home-made cakes raising funds for a different good cause every year – last year’s donations totalled more than £400. In 2026 they are supporting the local chapter of the Forget Me Not Singers, a community choir for those living with dementia and their carers.

The Art@Eype exhibition runs 17th-19th July, opening 10am-5pm Friday and Saturday, and 10am-4pm Sunday. Details on Facebook and Instagram at @artateype.
